WARNING:
A Shih Tzu puppy should NEVER be
sold before 8 weeks of age. We do not let ours go until 10 weeks.
We do make exceptions for special circumstances.
Many
states have laws that govern the sale of puppies. In the state of
Florida it is illegal to sell any puppy before 8 weeks.
Typical
Tian Mi Puppy
A
Shih Tzu puppy or puppies is a huge commitment, make sure you and
everyone in your family is on board before you call or make the trip
to a breeders house.
I
do not place litter photos on my nursery page due to puppy millers
stealing my photos and selling them as their puppies. After I speak
with you and we both feel a Tian Mi puppy is right for you, I will
provide a private link to view any available babies.
I
do not in any way advocate the sales of puppies via the internet.
I believe puppies should only be sold through a trusting relationship
between myself and the buyer. The internet is a wonderful thing in
many ways but it can be abused. Just as it is abused by predators
hunting children it is also abused by puppy mills looking to unload
their latest harvest of puppies on uneducated buyers. I allow puppies
to go to new homes only after I feel very comfortable knowing it is
a warm, loving home that will provide the same or better care than
I would give.
I
believe happy, clean, healthy puppies make clean, happy , healthy
companions for life. I only breed to achieve quality Shih Tzu to compete
in the AKC conformation ring. Any puppies that don't quite make it
to the ring are sold as loving new additions to exceptional families,
on a spay neuter contract. . I have a lifetime commitment to every
puppy I breed, providing a safety net for the life of any Tian Mi
Shih Tzu.
I
do have rescue dogs from time to time. If you are interested in providing

home baby- Items you may need
One
of the best puppy play pens is The Iris pen. I have several of these
and use them all the time. They are great for travel as well because
the fold flat.
My
go to shampoo for puppies
I
love these crates. I have a pink and a blue. I use them when I travel
as well because they collapse down flat and can be checked at an airport
and are easy to store.
I
am in total love with this brush. It is pretty mucht the only brush
I use unless I am at a show or finishing a dog after a bath. This brush
is soft and gets out ANYTHING.
These
chew bones are all I use for young puppies. They love them. They are
easy to grip and chew on. Safe.
Our
dogs LOVE these blinking balls. Puppies love the nubs on the that make
them easy to pick up and all the dogs like that when they move it, it
lights up.
Tian
Mi uses and approves of The
Pet Oasis water stand to keep our dogs faces white and dry!! MUTE

Vaccines, how many are
given and how far apart and which ones are administered. I
start vaccines at 8
weeks. 8,
11, 14
and then rabies.
Do you give them or is
it given by your vet.
I administer the puppy
vaccines and the vet gives the last set so she can add them to the
health cert when I take them in. My puppies do not leave until 12
weeks.
Do you give helath
certificates?
Florida
law states all pets sold must be accompanied by a health certificate
by a certified vetrinarian. My vet examines eyes, ears, coat, skin,
joints, belly nostrils, bites, and checks for parasites internal and
external.
Deworming how many and
at what age. I start deworming at
6 weeks. Again before
going home. Puppies recieve a fecal test at my vet before leaving for
their new home.
What
are your thoughts on heartworm and flea prevention. All
of my dogs are on Iverheart for
heart worm and Bravecto for fleas. You should speak to your vet as to
when you should start
Are they crate trained
and potty trained to a certain extent upon leaving for their forever
homes. Puppies start brief house training here.
We do take the puppies to play outside and they associate grass with
potty. As puppies grow they learn to not potty where they sleep and
start using a pad.
Which
food do you feed them. All dogs and
puppies are on a diet of quality grain free food.
Do all your babies have
the ext flat faces,and cobby bodies that I love. I
breed for flat faces. My dogs all have short noses not to extreme
because that causes problems. As far as coby bodies, No I do not breed long Shih Tzu.
Have
any of yoru puppies ever needed surgery for pinched nostrils AKA
stenotic nares? Never! Most Shih Tzu
puppies get "stuffy" while teething. They can be clear one day
and opeing their mouth to take deep breths the next. This is normal when
you breed dogs with flat faces. Once teething ends, so does the
"stuffy" breathing.
How old are they when
they are ready to go. 12 weeks
Do you have them
neutered or spay before going to their forever homes.If not,is it
possible for it to be done before they leave and the cost of this.
My
vet does not suggest spay or neuter until about six months
Do you ever sell puppies
with full registration so they can be bred later?
Never!
I do not
sell breeding dogs. When I chose to allow a puppy to go to a companion
home, the sole purpose is for that puppy to be
What colors do you have
or do you specialize in certain ones.
I normally
have gold and whites and red and whites.
How many times a year
are your ladies bred.
I dont always breed every
one each year. Depends on what I need to show.
What age do you breed
your girls?
My
girls are not bred before two years of age. They are not bred any more
than four times in her life. If she does not produce superior puppies
she is spayed to never be bred again.
